N Judah Shut-down
So the N Judah Muni line will be shut down and replaced with a bus shuttle service from Ocean Beach to Church Street. The N Line will not operate in the subways, however there will be a supplemental rail service between Castro Station and Caltrain Station. These adjustments will begin approximately 7pm Fridays until 5am Mondays.

There will also be longer partial shutdowns of the J Line and a full shutdown of the N line beginning May 25th. The N Owl, 22 Fillmore, 37 Corbett and 43 Masonic will also be rerouted.

Note to Residents and Merchants
Residents and merchants can expect bike lane closures and detours during construction. Traffic control officers and police will direct traffic at critical intersections. There will also be electronic messaging. Access to local businesses, residences and driveways will be maintained. Updates will be given on an ongoing basis.

So on November 9th 2011, the SFMTA had a community outreach meeting at Grattan Elementary School to talk about the Carl Street Rail Replacement Project. The meeting talked about the project limits, time frame, and budget, among other things. So, I know what you're thinking. Will muni stop running? I live on Carl, does that mean I'm stuck with loud construction noises and no street parking? Hopefully all these questions will be answered in time.

Here's the facts:

Project Limits: On Carl Street, between Cole and Arguello.
Project Timeframe: Completion Estimated at February 2013!
Resident Inconvenience: A lot!
Muni Stoppage: You betcha!
Budget: $18.3 Million

Transit, Infrastructure and Streetscape Enhancements:
1. Muni light rail service improvements:
          -Safety
          -Reliability
2. Train lubricators to help mitigate noise and vibration from the train
3. Curb ramp upgrades
4. Water and sewer improvements
5. Pole replacements.

What to read the all the information about the Rail Replacement Project, we got you! Let us know (via Contact Us) with your email and we'll send you along the pdf. Thanks @njudah for passing the information to us!
