Get Ready for Cole Valley Cardio!

So remember that quaint nail/tanning/waxing salon on Stanyan and Frederick? Well San Francisco Sun Tanning Salon is no longer and it looks like it's getting a facelift! It seems like the owners have closed due to financial reasons. Their website states the following:"Sadly, despite our efforts to continue in this economy, San Francisco Sun has closed. Please know, we are grateful for each and every customer and neighbor who has supported us over the past 10 years."

The 10 year old tanning salon will be reopening as a Cardio gym.. Could be promising considering the CV hood doesn't have much in the form of cardio and dance exercise classes. We got the pilates place on Waller, Midline on Lincoln, and Cole Valley Fitness on Cole but no dancing! Not sure when Cole Valley Cardio will be open for business but it looks like it will be soon.

BACON BACON TO REOPEN IN COLE VALLEY!

Bacon Bacon will be serving up delicious bacon items in Cole Valley once again! Jim Angelus successfully gained approval from the Planning Commission on yesterday!

The decision will allow the business to reopen, although a new ventilation and filtration system must be installed in a reasonable time frame, since the main reason why they closed was due to neighbors complaining of the bacon smell.

"I like to put a smile on people's face," Angelus said. "That makes me happy serving people food."

While his Frederick Street location was closed, Angelus opened another location at the Brick and Mortar Music Hall in the Mission district to allow him to continue to cook and prepare food for his mobile operation. At that location, Angelus has also started serving lunch during the week and on weekends during shows. It will remain as the primary prep kitchen for the food truck, so more bacon for the Mission hipsters, woot!

Let's welcome Pop Outerwear to the neighborhood! Once just an online store, Pop Outerwear is opening a store location on Waller in the Haight (1708 Waller to be exact!).

They are inviting us all to their Grand Opening launch party Wednesday, July 17th from 6-9pm!. Pop Outerwear is following the "Click-to-Brick" trend by opening the showroom with regular hours. This is a trend many online companies are starting to follow across the country.

All their clothing is made 100% in the United States and the summer line was all made in San Francisco. With the goal of adding downtown styling to snowboarding outerwear and base layers, they aim to bring a product to all 9-5'ers that dream of snow or adventure. There will be discounts, free food and drinks. Let's support local businesses!
