Community Meeting Notice: Park Station's Community Police Forum will be
held at 6 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Station's Community Room.
Please attend.

Serious Incidents
Crown Terr.  8:35 PM  Residential Burglary  A resident heard footsteps on a
lower floor and investigated. He heard someone running from his home and
found a flashlight that had been taken from inside the house and dropped
outside. Officer Parker investigated and a fingerprint was taken from the
light. Entry was via an unlocked side door. No other loss reported.

1000 Fell St.  8:50 PM  Residential Burglary  A resident heard a commotion
in his living room and found three burglars leaving his flat. He gave chase
to the trio but lost sight of them in the neighborhood. He reported that
his television had been moved during the burglary, that a guitar had been
damaged, and that a laptop computer had been stolen. The burglars were
described as: a black male in his late teens, 6' tall, 160 pounds, wearing
a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, carrying a Razor skateboard (used in
his escape); an unknown race male of unknown age with a similar physical
build as the first suspect, wearing similar clothing as the first suspect
with a black cap;  and a Hispanic male of unknown age, 5'6" tall, 145
pounds, also wearing similar clothing as the first two suspects, with a
light moustache. Entry was gained via an unlocked front door.

1700 block of McAllister St.  9:40 PM  Residential Burglary   Occurred
between 2:30 and 8:30 PM. No forced entry found. Medicine, computer
peripherals, and jewelry taken.

Other Incidents
17th and Ord Streets  1 PM  Traffic Case  Sergeant Panina and posse cited
15 motorists for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk in
a traffic enforcement operation.

Carl and Cole Streets  4 PM  Warrant Service  Officer Anderson arrested a
51 year old Tenderloin man on an Alameda County warrant for disorderly
conduct.

First block of Castro St.  5:45 PM  Battery  Officer O'Leary arrested a 56
year old Mission District man for battery and disorderly conduct. The
drunken man became enraged when told that he would not be treated at the
hospital's emergency room. He struck a doctor and kicked a security guard.
The man was booked at Park Station for being drunk in public and cited for
the assaults upon being released when he was sober.

Fortuna Ave.  3:30 PM  Found Property  Officer Lieu took ammunition
supplies from a resident and delivered them to the Police Range at Lake
Merced for destruction.

2600 block of Geary Blvd.  8:30 PM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between 6:30
and 7 PM.

1900 block of Golden Gate Ave.  6:35 PM  Theft  Bank fraud case: suspect
known.

Golden Gate Park - Sharon Meadows  12:55 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Nakano
arrested a 25 year old SF man for possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

1800 block of Haight St.  6 PM  Theft  Occurred at 1:15 PM on April 5th and
reported at Tenderloin Station. A woman said that she hung her purse over
the back of her chair in a restaurant and later noticed it missing. She
found that her credit cards had been used in fraudulent purchases on Market
Street.

700 block of Page St.  7 PM  Missing Person  A worried father called Police
Service Aide Sainez at Park Station to report that his son, a Haight
Ashbury man, had not arrived in New Zealand as scheduled. Foot Beat
Officers Gumpfer and Davies located the man at home and asked him to call
his father in New Zealand.

600 block of Shrader St.  9:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between April 5
and 6.

600 block of Haight St.  4:55 PM  Theft  Foot Beat Officer Davies arrested
a 46 year old Mission District man for shoplifting and for disorderly
conduct. The man was booked at Park Station for being drunk in public and
cited for the theft upon being released when he was sober.

2900 block of Turk St.  4:35 PM  Auto Burglary  A witness reported seeing
two suspects rummaging through a parked car with broken glass beneath it.
Officer Bowers investigated but could not locate the car's owner. He left a
message with the owner's neighbor requesting contact.

Turk and Divisadero Streets  1:40 AM  Traffic Case  Officer Wu investigated
a two car traffic collision and arrested a 38 year old Corona Heights man
for felony DUI.

Corrections
Yesterday's Newsletter listed incidents that occurred in the Park Police
District on April 4th not April 5th.

The incident described in yesterday's newsletter as occurring at 11:30 AM
on the 1200 block of Fell Street did not include information that the Obama
sign depicted the President with a small moustache. I thank blogger Andrew
Dudley for bringing that fact to light.

1400 block of Fulton St.  6:30 PM  Residential Burglary  Occurred between
8:30 and 11 AM. Entry via garage door and forced entry of interior door.
Laptop computer, camera and checks taken.

Other Incidents
Belvedere and Waller Streets  April 4  Traffic Case  Hit and Run collision
of parked car.

Broderick and Fell Streets  8 AM  April 4  Traffic Case   Hit and Run
collision of parked car.

Fortuna Ave.  9:30 PM  Narcotics Case  Residents opened a parcel that had
been left on March 15th. The package was addressed to a person not living
in the building and not known to the tenants. They called the police when
they found hallucinogenic mushrooms inside the package.

Golden Gate Park - JFK and West Conservatory Drives  3:50 PM  Auto Burglary
Occurred between 11 AM and 3:15 PM.

Golden Gate Park - Sharon Meadows  6:30 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Reyes
and posse arrested a 23 year old SF man for violating a court stay away
order, local traffic warrants, and possessing marijuana for sale. The man
had offered to sell marijuana to an undercover police officer and then ran
from officers when they approached to arrest him. He was captured at
Stanyan and Beulah Streets.

1700 block of Haight St.  8:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between 11:45 AM
and 12:15 PM.

Haight Street Corridor One arrested for drunk in public and one arrested on
local warrants.

100 block of Henry St.  11:50 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '97 Honda recovered.

Kimball Park - Steiner St. and Geary Blvd.  9:40 PM  Theft  Unattended gym
bag and contents taken.

900 block of Oak St.  8 AM  Vandalism  Offensive sticker found on tree.

Oak and Divisadero Streets  5:30 PM  Traffic Case  Bicyclist injured while
avoiding collision with car in traffic.

Late Report
100 block of Pierce St.  12:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred April 4.

400 block of Warren Dr.  8:15 AM  Vandalism  Mirrors broken on parked car.

1700 block of Ellis St.  1:45 PM  Death Case  Officer Lundin investigated a
death case and turned the investigation over to the Medical Examiner's
Office.

1900 block of Ellis St.  10 PM  Harassing Phone Calls  Suspect known.

1200 block of Fell St.  11:30 AM  Battery  A 29 year old Daly City man set
up a table with political literature and President Obama signs. Two
suspects, a man and a woman, approached the table, tore a sign, shook the
table causing literature to fall and kicked the victim. The pair fled
before the police arrived.

100 block of Gardenside Dr.  3;15 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '94 Honda recovered.

Locksley Ave  9:30 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '93 Honda taken.

1800 block of Haight St.  6:40 PM  Battery  Suspect known.

Haight and Broderick Streets  10:30 PM  Traffic Case  Car versus
pedestrian; one injured.

Haight Street Corridor  One booked for drunk in public. Four warned for
Sit/Lie violations. Two cited for Sit/Lie violations. One booked for
selling marijuana.

Noe and 14th Street  6:10 PM  Traffic Case  Car versus pedestrian; one
injured.

Oak and Ashbury Streets  Midnight  Traffic Case  Officer Lee found that the
car he was posting a warning on was displaying the wrong plate. He
recognized the name of the registered owner of the parked car and seized
the plate as evidence. The investigation continues.

Oak and Clayton Streets  1 AM  Mental Health Evaluation  Officer Brown
brought a 41 year old SF man to UCSF for evaluation.

First block of Shrader St.  11 PM  Missing Person A 27 year old resident
walked away from his care facility.

200 block of States St.  8 AM  Vandalism  Finish to parked car damaged by
sharp object.

Locksley Ave.  11 PM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between 12:30 and 6 AM.

6 and 9 PM. Forced entry of business via back door. Cash taken.

1300 block of 7th Ave.  5 PM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between April 2 and
3.

16th and Castro Streets  8:30 PM  Traffic Case  Hit and Run of two parked
cars.

1200 block of Arguello Blvd.  4 PM  Harassing Phone Calls

500 block of Ashbury St.  1 PM  Vandalism  Two parked scooters had their
mirrors broken and their handlebars dislodged.

First block of Beaver St.  4:20 PM  Vandalism  Damage to parked car's
finish.

Carl and Cole Streets  2:50 PM  Warrant Service  Officer Anderson arrested
a 47 year old North Beach man on a Contra Costa County misdemeanor warrant.

500 block of Central Ave.  9 PM  Theft  A resident reported that a care
worker absconded with his wallet and its contents.

700 block of Corbett Ave.  7 AM  Auto Burglary  Officer Kenney investigated
a car break-in wherein a witness heard glass breaking and saw a man taking
items from a parked car. Officer Kenney was contacted at 9 AM by the car's
owner who reported his iPad missing, among other valuables. The victim was
tracking his iPad via the Internet. Lieutenant Pengel took over the
internet search and directed officers to Mission and 11th Streets. There
Officer Kenney found a 39 year old SF man in possession of the stolen iPad.
He did not match the description of the auto burglar. The man said that he
had just bought the $800 iPad for $250 on the street at 14th and Mission
Streets. He was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

300 block of Divisadero St.  12 PM  Theft  A store clerk reported to Foot
Beat Officer Leong that a man had shoplifted a soda and ran out of the
store with money left in a tip jar. The clerk chased the thief and
recovered the cash. Sergeant Aherne, Northern Station, stopped the thief, a
63 year old SOMA man, at Scott and Haight Streets. Officer Leong arrested
the man and charged him with burglary and petty theft.

500 block of Divisadero St.  3:40 AM  Aided Case  Officer Nyce ordered an
ambulance for a man who had fallen and hurt himself. Another man, a 26 year
old Haight Ashbury resident, interfered with paramedics as they tended to
the injured man. Officer Nyce admonished the man for interfering with the
paramedics.

Haight Street Corridor  One arrested on local warrants. One cited for a
Sit/Lie violation. One booked for maintaining a public nuisance (drunk in
public and Sit/Lie violation).

100 block of Hugo St.  11:10 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '85 Honda motorcycle
taken.

1400 block of Fulton St.  1:20 PM  Trespassing Unknown suspect told to
leave building's yard.

parked car.

800 block of Central Ave.  9:30 AM  Gun Case  Officer Lundin investigated a
call of three youths brandishing a gun. He found the trio with an air
pistol and admonished them about their behavior.

Golden Gate Park - Arguello Blvd. and Fulton St.  2:30 AM  Traffic Case
Officer Jackson investigated a single vehicle roll over collision and
arrested the driver, a 27 year old OMI Neighborhood woman for DUI.

Fell and Divisadero Streets  9 AM  Traffic Case  A 55 year old Western
Addition man was cited for a registration violation and for driving with a
suspended license; his car was impounded.

Fulton and Divisadero St.  10 PM  Threats  An angry motorist threatened
another driver in a dispute over a parking space.

1500 block of Grove St.  3 PM  Traffic Case  Hit and Run of a parked car
sometime during the day.

1500 block of Haight St.  9:30 PM  Theft  Unattended purse and its contents
taken from bar.

Haight and Scott Streets  5:50 PM  Threats  Officer Lee admonished a 46
year old Tenderloin man for disturbing the peace.

Haight Street Corridor  One booked for disorderly conduct: drunk in public.
One booked on two Santa Monica misdemeanor warrants. Two warned for Sit/Lie
violations, three cited for Sit/Lie violations, and one booked for a
Sit/Lie violation.

1300 block of Masonic Ave.  6:40 PM  Vandalism  Convertible top of parked
car cut open sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 PM.

400 block of Steiner St.  6:15 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Bowers stopped a
29 year old Alameda man for an equipment violation and arrested the man on
a misdemeanor Oakland traffic warrant. He searched the man's SUV and seized
a large amount (120 grams) of Ecstasy.  The man was booked on three charges
at Park Station.

600 block of Divisadero St.  12:20 PM  Officer Ferraz brought a 57 year old
SF woman to SFGH for evaluation.

Golden Gate Park - Hippie Hill  11:30 AM  Narcotics Case  Officer Bodisco
admonished a 36 year old Oakland man for loitering where narcotics are
sold.

1700 block of Haight St.  3 PM  Battery  A suspect spit on two bank
employees after being refused service.

Haight Street Corridor One booked for disorderly conduct: drunk in public.
One warned for Sit/Lie violation and two cited for Sit/Lie violations. One
booked for maintaining a public nuisance (drunk in public and Sit/Lie
violation). One booked for violating a court stay away order. One taken to
SFGH for a mental health evaluation.

600 block of Laguna Honda Blvd.  8:50 AM  Missing Person  Teen left home
without permission.

Lyon and Turk Streets  10:40 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred on March 24.

First block of Shrader St.  11 PM  Missing Person  47 year old resident

man was texting as he walked home. He was set upon by three men who
demanded his phone. He fought with the trio and retained his phone but he
lost his wallet to the robbers in the scuffle.
