Serious Incidents

Hayes and Stanyan Streets  3:30 PM  Robbery  A 37 year old SF man reported
that he was struck from behind and knocked unconscious. His backpack and
two laptop computers were then taken.

800 block of Clayton St.  9:30 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '98 Honda recovered.

600 block of Corbett Ave.  2:30 PM  Theft  Officer Greer investigated a
theft wherein a 78 year old woman sent over $12,000 to a Canadian address
under the impression that she had won $25,000 in a lottery. The woman's
bank had notified the Adult Protective Services and the Royal Canadian
Mounted Police.

Golden Gate Park - Stanyan Meadows  12:50 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer
Brandt arrested a 29 year old Las Vegas, NV, man for possessing marijuana
for sale and for possessing a prohibited weapon (slungshot).

Haight Street Corridor

       600 block of Stanyan St.  2:30 PM  Theft  Officer Parker investigated
a shoplifting incident and arrested a 33 year old SF man for petty theft
and a   SF warrant.
       600 block of Haight St.  7 PM  Theft  Unattended iPod taken from
behind store's counter.

1100 block of Hayes St.  12 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '96 Honda taken.

400 block of Lincoln Way  5 PM  Mental Health Evaluation  Officer Imbellino
answered a MUNI Inspector's call of a woman wandering in traffic. He found
the inspector restraining a 53 year old woman. The good officer took the
woman to SFGH for an evaluation.

2000 block of Market St.  8:20 AM  Stolen Property   Officer Nakano and
Officer Barcena investigated a disturbance inside a grocery store and
arrested a 41 year old SOMA man for possessing a stolen bicycle (it had
been taken from a bike rack in the SOMA on June 1).

First block of Shrader St.  11 PM  Missing Person  46 year old resident of
rehabilitation facility failed to return as promised.

600 block of Broderick St.  8 PM  Burglary  Occurred between 9 AM and 6 PM.
Forced entry via rear door to flat. Laptop computer, iPad, and jewelry
taken.

800 block of Central Ave.  8:30 AM  Missing Person  Juvenile failed to
return home to facility.

2200 block of Geary Blvd.  1 PM  Theft  Credit cards taken from unattended
wallet in office building.

Golden Gate Park - Hippie Hill  12:10 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Brandt
admonished a 36 year old Oakland, CA, man for loitering where narcotics are
sold.

Haight Street Corridor

 - One person was warned and another was cited for Sit/Lie violations
during the course of the day.
 - Officer Nakano arrested a 52 year old SF man on a Parole Violation
warrant on the 1400 block of Haight Street at 10 AM.
 - A 59 year old Mission District man reported a road rage incident that
occurred on the 600 block of Stanyan Street at 2:40 PM
 - A 25 year old Central Sunset woman reported that a thief had picked her
purse on a MUNI bus at Haight and Stanyan Streets at 5:45 PM.

Hayes and Baker Streets  5:45 PM  Court Order Violation  Officer Fraize
arrested a 40 year old Diamond Heights man for violation a judge's stay
away order.

1200 block of Page St.  3:30 PM  Missing Person  A teen ran away from a
juvenile facility.

100 block of Belvedere St.  7:30 AM  Narcotics Case  Officer Nakano
conducted a search of a 54 year old Haight Ashbury man's residence at the
request of the man's parole agent.

Carl and Cole Streets  4 AM  Vandalism  Graffiti on MUNI Tunnel.

800 block of Central Ave.  10 AM  Missing Person  Two juveniles were
reported missing from a facility. Both reported found at 9 PM.

100 block of Cole St.  3 PM  Missing Person  Sergeant Kane located a 36
year old Cole Valley resident who had been reported missing by her
ex-husband.

300 block of Divisadero St.  1:15 PM  Battery  Officer Barcena investigated
a disturbance and arrested a 31 year old Excelsior District man who stuck
an acquaintance and threatened to harm another man's wife. The suspect was
booked on five charges at Park Station.

700 block of Divisadero St.  4 PM  Warrant Service  Officer Ferraz arrested
a 48 year old SOMA man on a SF warrant for violating a restraining order
after stopping the man for a traffic violation.

2000 block of Geary Blvd.  11 PM  Auto Burglary

2600 block of Geary Blvd.  3;10 PM  Theft  A suspect stole a hair extension
from a beauty store.

Golden Gate Park - McLaren Lodge  6:30 AM  Disturbing the Peace  Officer
Brandt arrested a 55 year old SF man for challenging a Park Ranger to
fight.

1500 block of Grove St.  9 AM  Theft  Security camera taken from side of
building.

Haight and Divisadero Streets  3 AM  Vehicle Theft  Sergeant Lewis stopped
three men to question them about the motorcycle that one man was pushing.
Officer Brown contacted the owner of the motorcycle at home on the 900
block of Haight Street and learned that the vehicle had been stolen. The
good Sergeant arrested one of the men, a 37 year old Albany, CA, resident
and charged him with vehicle theft.

Haight Street Corridor
 - Two people warned for Sit/Lie violations and two others cited for the
same during the course of the day.
 - A 49 year old SF man was asked to stop selling his own merchandise
inside a business on the 1600 block of Haight Street at noon. The man
threatened to burn down the building. Foot Beat Officer Kelly investigated
and arrested the man nearby, charging him with making felony threats. The
man was on probation for arson and a probation hold was placed on him as
well.
 - Foot Beat Officers Gumpfer and Davies arrested a 40 year old Mission
District man for being drunk in public on the 1400 block of Waller Street
at 4 PM.

2200 block of Hayes St.  2:30 PM  Stolen Vehicle  '02 Cadillac stolen.

1200 block of Page St.  4:45 Missing person  Teen left facility without
permission.

1400 block of Hayes St.  7 PM  Burglary  Occurred between 2:30 and 3:30 PM.
Illegal entry via front door. Laptop computer taken.

100 block of Buena Vista Terr.  9:15 PM Burglary  Two incidents: One
occurred between April 23 and 26. No forced entry found. Bicycle taken from
building's garage. One occurred in an adjacent building between April 24
and 25. No forced entry found. Valuables taken from car parked in garage.

2000 block of McAllister St.  10:30 PM  Attempted Burglary  A resident
heard a prowler attempting to open a kitchen window in the rear of her
flat. No entry was made.

Other Incidents
First block of Baker St.  1 PM  Death Case  Officer Lundin handled a death
case and turned the investigation over to the Medical Examiner's Office.

1700 block of Eddy St.  12:30 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Hunt and Officer
Burke assisted a State Parole Officer and arrested a 40 year old SF man for
possessing methamphetamine for sale. The man's parole was violated, too.

1800 block of Eddy St.  7 AM  Missing Person  A concerned mother called
Park Station from Mississippi to report that she had not heard from her
son, who lives on the 1800 block of Eddy Street, since April 16. He was
found at home that evening by Officer Lee and advised to call his mother.

Eddy and Pierce Streets  12:15 AM  Threats  Suspect known.

2100 block of Fulton St.  5:30 PM  Harassing Phone Calls Suspect known.

1200 block of Grove St.  4:20 PM  Theft  Bank fraud case.

Haight Street Corridor
       Foot Beat Officer Kelly arrested a 29 year old SF man for being drunk
in public at Haight and Cole Streets at 9:30 AM.
       A merchant reported a broken window on the 1700 block of Haight
Street at 1 PM.
       Foot Beat Officer Racine arrested a 29 year old SF man for being
drunk in public at Haight and Belvedere Streets at 6 PM.
       Officer Doherty arrested a 20 year old SF man on a SF auto theft
warrant at Haight and Clayton Streets at 6:15 PM.
       Officer Doherty arrested a 26 year old Stockton man for being drunk
in public on the 1700 block of Haight Street at 9:20 PM.
       Sergeant Lewis cited a 37 year old Tenderloin District man for
peddling without a permit on the 1700 block of Haight Street at 10:20 PM.
       Officer Doherty arrested a 29 year old SF man on a SF vandalism
warrant on the 1400 block of Haight Street at 11 PM.

Golden Gate Park
       Officer Fegan took a 25 year old SF man from Hippie Hill to SFGH for
a mental health evaluation at 3 PM.
       Officer O'Leary admonished a 23 year old SF man about loitering where
narcotics are sold at Alvord Lake at 4:30 PM

Oak and Divisadero Streets  5:15 PM  Traffic Case  Hit and Run chain
traffic collision, no injuries reported.

Serious Incidents
1600 block of Hayes St.  7:15 AM  Burglary  Occurred between April 20 and
21. Forced entry of side door to garage and of car parked inside. Three
bicycles, a skateboard and a cell phone were taken.

Geary Blvd. and Scott St.  7:20 PM (April 19)  Grand Theft  A MUNI
passenger had his cell phone taken from his hands by a suspect who fled
when the bus stopped.

1700 block of McAllister St.  9:30 PM  Burglary  A resident discovered that
his closet's floor safe had been forced open sometime between April 16 and
19. Jewelry was taken.

300 block of Divisadero St.  10:30 PM Burglary  Two adjacent businesses had
their rear doors forced open and their offices ransacked. Cash was taken
from both premises.

Other Incidents
100 block of Belvedere St.  9 PM  Missing Person  A teen left a juvenile
facility without permission at 3:45 PM, she returned unscathed at 9 PM.

100 block of Carmel St.  4 PM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between April 20 and
21.

First block of Crestline Dr.  10:30 PM  Stolen Vehicle  '95 Honda
recovered.

400 block of Divisadero St.  9:30 AM Vandalism  Occurred between 3 and 9
AM. Gas station's card readers on gas pumps glued shut.

Eddy and Scott Streets  11:20 PM  Traffic Case  A 24 year old Bayview man
was cited for an equipment violation and for driving without a license; his
car was impounded.

1600 block of Fell St.  7:30 AM  Vandalism  Gas station's locks on pump
handles glued shut and its emergency cutoff switch damaged

Golden Gate Park - Sharon Meadow  10 AM  Narcotics Case  Officer Bodisco
arrested a 36 year old Oakland woman for loitering where narcotics are used
and served a BART PD warrant for her arrest.

Haight Street Corridor

Officer Brandt arrested a 20 year old San Luis Obispo woman on a Newark PD
felony narcotics warrant on the 1700 block of Haight Street at noon.

Foot Beat Officer Davies arrested a 36 year old SF man for being drunk in
public, a Sit/Lie violation, and for creating a public nuisance at Haight
Street  and Masonic Avenue at 7:40 PM.

100 block of Lincoln Way  8 PM  Theft  Debit card fraud case involving a
false internet purchase.

1200 block of Page St.  Missing Person  One teen reported found at 9:15 AM
and other was reported missing from the same juvenile facility at 4:30 PM.

Rivoli and Cole Streets  2:15 PM  Stolen Vehicle  '96 Honda taken sometime
between April 20 and 21.

300 block of Upper Terr.  10 AM  Theft  Credit card fraud case involving a
false purchase made in South Africa.

Community Meeting Notice: Park Station's Community Police Forum will be
held at 6 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Station's Community Room.

Serious Incidents
Crown Terr.  8:35 PM  Residential Burglary  A resident heard footsteps on a
lower floor and investigated. He heard someone running from his home and
found a flashlight that had been taken from inside the house and dropped
outside. Officer Parker investigated and a fingerprint was taken from the
light. Entry was via an unlocked side door. No other loss reported.

1000 Fell St.  8:50 PM  Residential Burglary  A resident heard a commotion
in his living room and found three burglars leaving his flat. He gave chase
to the trio but lost sight of them in the neighborhood. He reported that
his television had been moved during the burglary, that a guitar had been
damaged, and that a laptop computer had been stolen. The burglars were
described as: a black male in his late teens, 6' tall, 160 pounds, wearing
a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, carrying a Razor skateboard (used in
his escape); an unknown race male of unknown age with a similar physical
build as the first suspect, wearing similar clothing as the first suspect
with a black cap;  and a Hispanic male of unknown age, 5'6" tall, 145
pounds, also wearing similar clothing as the first two suspects, with a
light moustache. Entry was gained via an unlocked front door.

1700 block of McAllister St.  9:40 PM  Residential Burglary   Occurred
between 2:30 and 8:30 PM. No forced entry found. Medicine, computer
peripherals, and jewelry taken.

Other Incidents
17th and Ord Streets  1 PM  Traffic Case  Sergeant Panina and posse cited
15 motorists for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk in
a traffic enforcement operation.

Carl and Cole Streets  4 PM  Warrant Service  Officer Anderson arrested a
51 year old Tenderloin man on an Alameda County warrant for disorderly
conduct.

First block of Castro St.  5:45 PM  Battery  Officer O'Leary arrested a 56
year old Mission District man for battery and disorderly conduct. The
drunken man became enraged when told that he would not be treated at the
hospital's emergency room. He struck a doctor and kicked a security guard.
The man was booked at Park Station for being drunk in public and cited for
the assaults upon being released when he was sober.

Fortuna Ave.  3:30 PM  Found Property  Officer Lieu took ammunition
supplies from a resident and delivered them to the Police Range at Lake
Merced for destruction.

2600 block of Geary Blvd.  8:30 PM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between 6:30
and 7 PM.

1900 block of Golden Gate Ave.  6:35 PM  Theft  Bank fraud case: suspect
known.

Golden Gate Park - Sharon Meadows  12:55 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Nakano
arrested a 25 year old SF man for possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

1800 block of Haight St.  6 PM  Theft  Occurred at 1:15 PM on April 5th and
reported at Tenderloin Station. A woman said that she hung her purse over
the back of her chair in a restaurant and later noticed it missing. She
found that her credit cards had been used in fraudulent purchases on Market
Street.

700 block of Page St.  7 PM  Missing Person  A worried father called Police
Service Aide Sainez at Park Station to report that his son, a Haight
Ashbury man, had not arrived in New Zealand as scheduled. Foot Beat
Officers Gumpfer and Davies located the man at home and asked him to call
his father in New Zealand.

600 block of Shrader St.  9:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between April 5
and 6.

600 block of Haight St.  4:55 PM  Theft  Foot Beat Officer Davies arrested
a 46 year old Mission District man for shoplifting and for disorderly
conduct. The man was booked at Park Station for being drunk in public and
cited for the theft upon being released when he was sober.

2900 block of Turk St.  4:35 PM  Auto Burglary  A witness reported seeing
two suspects rummaging through a parked car with broken glass beneath it.
Officer Bowers investigated but could not locate the car's owner. He left a
message with the owner's neighbor requesting contact.

Turk and Divisadero Streets  1:40 AM  Traffic Case  Officer Wu investigated
a two car traffic collision and arrested a 38 year old Corona Heights man
for felony DUI.

Corrections
Yesterday's Newsletter listed incidents that occurred in the Park Police
District on April 4th not April 5th.

The incident described in yesterday's newsletter as occurring at 11:30 AM
on the 1200 block of Fell Street did not include information that the Obama
sign depicted the President with a small moustache. I thank blogger Andrew
Dudley for bringing that fact to light.
 
Serious Incidents
1400 block of Fulton St.  6:30 PM  Residential Burglary  Occurred between
8:30 and 11 AM. Entry via garage door and forced entry of interior door.
Laptop computer, camera and checks taken.

Other Incidents
Belvedere and Waller Streets  April 4  Traffic Case  Hit and Run collision
of parked car.

Broderick and Fell Streets  8 AM  April 4  Traffic Case   Hit and Run
collision of parked car.

Fortuna Ave.  9:30 PM  Narcotics Case  Residents opened a parcel that had
been left on March 15th. The package was addressed to a person not living
in the building and not known to the tenants. They called the police when
they found hallucinogenic mushrooms inside the package.

Golden Gate Park - JFK and West Conservatory Drives  3:50 PM  Auto Burglary
Occurred between 11 AM and 3:15 PM.

Golden Gate Park - Sharon Meadows  6:30 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Reyes
and posse arrested a 23 year old SF man for violating a court stay away
order, local traffic warrants, and possessing marijuana for sale. The man
had offered to sell marijuana to an undercover police officer and then ran
from officers when they approached to arrest him. He was captured at
Stanyan and Beulah Streets.

1700 block of Haight St.  8:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred between 11:45 AM
and 12:15 PM.

Haight Street Corridor One arrested for drunk in public and one arrested on
local warrants.

100 block of Henry St.  11:50 AM  Stolen Vehicle  '97 Honda recovered.

Kimball Park - Steiner St. and Geary Blvd.  9:40 PM  Theft  Unattended gym
bag and contents taken.

900 block of Oak St.  8 AM  Vandalism  Offensive sticker found on tree.

Oak and Divisadero Streets  5:30 PM  Traffic Case  Bicyclist injured while
avoiding collision with car in traffic.

Late Report
100 block of Pierce St.  12:30 AM  Auto Burglary  Occurred April 4.

400 block of Warren Dr.  8:15 AM  Vandalism  Mirrors broken on parked car.

800 block of Central Ave.  9:30 AM  Gun Case  Officer Lundin investigated a
call of three youths brandishing a gun. He found the trio with an air
pistol and admonished them about their behavior.

Golden Gate Park - Arguello Blvd. and Fulton St.  2:30 AM  Traffic Case
Officer Jackson investigated a single vehicle roll over collision and
arrested the driver, a 27 year old OMI Neighborhood woman for DUI.

Fell and Divisadero Streets  9 AM  Traffic Case  A 55 year old Western
Addition man was cited for a registration violation and for driving with a
suspended license; his car was impounded.

Fulton and Divisadero St.  10 PM  Threats  An angry motorist threatened
another driver in a dispute over a parking space.

1500 block of Grove St.  3 PM  Traffic Case  Hit and Run of a parked car
sometime during the day.

1500 block of Haight St.  9:30 PM  Theft  Unattended purse and its contents
taken from bar.

Haight and Scott Streets  5:50 PM  Threats  Officer Lee admonished a 46
year old Tenderloin man for disturbing the peace.

Haight Street Corridor  One booked for disorderly conduct: drunk in public.
One booked on two Santa Monica misdemeanor warrants. Two warned for Sit/Lie
violations, three cited for Sit/Lie violations, and one booked for a
Sit/Lie violation.

1300 block of Masonic Ave.  6:40 PM  Vandalism  Convertible top of parked
car cut open sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 PM.

400 block of Steiner St.  6:15 PM  Narcotics Case  Officer Bowers stopped a
29 year old Alameda man for an equipment violation and arrested the man on
a misdemeanor Oakland traffic warrant. He searched the man's SUV and seized
a large amount (120 grams) of Ecstasy.  The man was booked on three charges
at Park Station.

First block of Noe St.  9:30 PM  Robbery  A 36 year old Western Addition
man was texting as he walked home. He was set upon by three men who
demanded his phone. He fought with the trio and retained his phone but he
lost his wallet to the robbers in the scuffle.

facility.

500 block of Cole St.  10:30 AM  Theft  Internet fraud case.
